Who Qualifies For Student Loan Consolidation?

In the past, the only ones who qualified to consolidate student loans were students who had taken out private loans. Private loans are often considered a last resort for financing education, making the chance to consolidate student debt somewhat uncommon.
These days though, there are changes, and there is a belief that federal student loans are going to be made eligible for consolidation. This may be possible, but it is likely to come up for debate, and not everyone is likely to be eligible for this.
Eligibility may be determined on payment history, credit score and possibly other factors. The terms may resemble those of private lenders, but still come with easier access and lower interest rate.
To be honest though, loan practices all around could look very different in the coming months or years.
